Description:

This is the second of a three-part series, sponsored by UCI ADVANCE and Calit2, designed for students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. This program will explore how students can take advantage of the wealth of internships and research programs available at UC Irvine – and with our many industry partners.

Pizza and drinks will be provided following the presentation.

Speakers:

Stephanie Chang is an UCI undergraduate student studying computer science.  She is currently the Google Student Ambassador for UC Irvine, a research assistant at Calit2, and an application developer for UC Irvine Student Housing. She enjoys working with both full stack web and mobile application development and aspires to be a software engineer.

Michelle Foley is a UCI Internship Coordinator. She assists employers in the development and recruitment of interns at all degree levels, and provides student internship advising.

Sharon Parks is the associate director for the UCI Capital Internship Programs, and is responsible for the Washington DC and Sacramento programs, which encourage students to study abroad in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Said Shokair is director of the UCI Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). Nearly  2,000 students participate annually in UROP programs. UROP encourages and facilitates faculty-mentored research and creative activities by UCI undergraduates from all schools and academic disciplines.
