November 23, 2010 –
CALIT2 faculty, postdoctoral researchers, students and staff are invited to participate in a unique video project in honor of the institute’s upcoming 10th anniversary celebration.
The experimental, participatory 4K cinema project will capture the diversity of activity that CALIT2 affiliates engage in. It is a follow-up to a recent visual arts undergraduate media project at UC San Diego titled One Minute, in which nine people captured one minute of their day. In this iteration, the project’s coordinators are hoping to include 120 individual videos.
Those interested in participating are invited – at precisely 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 24 – to capture three minutes of their lives as part of the CALIT2 community. No need to plan in advance; simply take your camera phone, web cam or other portable video capture device and document whatever you are doing at that time.
Once you have recorded your video, simply upload it along with a txt file containing the following information:
Name:
Division: UCSD or UCI
Research area/group:
Recording location: (if on campus: building/floor; if off campus: city/street name)
Both the video and txt file should be titled with the participant’s first and last name. Files must be uploaded to the FTP server by 11 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24th.
