In collaboration with the Orange County Chapter of Aging2.0 and the Irvine Health Foundation, CALIT2 kicked off the summer TEA series. The three-part series showcases the Aging2.0 Grand Challenge topics through afternoon tea, taking a whole person approach to aging.
“The series will be educational, energizing and engaging,” says G.P. Li, CALIT2 director. “Our tea party will be held in the afternoon with a number of speakers in the aging space as well as tea experts.”
The inaugural program featured three speakers: Helene Calvet, deputy county health officer, Orange County Health Care Agency; Sergio Gago, UCI information technology specialist; and Erin Ulibarri, Information and Assistance Manager, Orange County Office on Aging.
The second event in the series will be held August 23, featuring a number of speakers who will talk more about various healthy aging resources available, as well as tips for the senior community.
The series is free and open to the public. Programs are held at 3 pm in the CALIT2 Building Seminar Room 3008.
“All are welcome,” adds Li. “Students, older adults, non-profits, community members, friends, family – we can all help transform everybody’s aging.”
