The Dean and Associate Dean of the Henry Samueli School of Engineering have named Guann-Pyng (G.P.) Li as a recipient of the 2018 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Fostering Undergraduate Research. Li was selected for his outstanding work in mentoring undergraduate students engaged in research and/or creative activity.
Li is a UCI professor with appointments in three departments: Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, and Biomedical Engineering. He also serves as division director of the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (CALIT2) and director of the Integrated Nanosystems Research Facility in The Henry Samueli School of Engineering.
One faculty member and one student from each school was formally recognized for their contributions during an awards ceremony held on May 19, 2018 at the UCI Student Center. The ceremony was a highlight of the 25th Annual UCI Undergraduate Research Symposium themed, “Undergraduate Research: Innovation & Collaboration,” and hosted by Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP).
