The Energy Economics and California Policy Forum, held April 5 at Harbor Breeze Cruises in Long Beach, brought together climate and energy leaders throughout Southern California to examine the state’s ever-changing energy policies and their associated economic, business and community impact. The theme of last month’s forum was, “The Impact of Energy Policy in Businesses.”
A keynote speech was given by Mario Cordero, executive director of the Port of Long Beach. The presentation was followed by a panel discussion featuring experts who addressed top energy concerns of the business community in California. Panelists included G.P. Li, director of CALIT2 and CalPlug at UCI; Milad Arouni, P.Eng, PMP, CLSSGB, Burns & McDonnell; Dean Persinger, field manager of coastal operations, California Resources Corporation; Kevin Barker, senior manager energy policy, SoCalGas; Rosalie Barcinas, director of electrification and customer services policy, Southern California Edison; and Tony Guardado, owner, Specialized Equipment Services, Inc., Cypress, Ca.
The panel was moderated by Jack Brouwer, professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, and director of the UCI Clean Energy Institute.
The forum was hosted by the Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The RHCC works to build a vibrant and prosperous business community by representing the interests of the local business community while embracing economic and professional development.
