G.P. Li, Cali2 Irvine division director

G.P. Li, director of the Irvine division of CALIT2, was named this week as one of 14 outstanding Asian American and Pacific Islander Community Leaders and Role Models by the Asian Business Association of Orange County.

The awards, which single out local business leaders, students and community activists for their dedication to diverse communities, were made in celebration of  Asian Pacific American Heritage month, celebrated in May.  Now in its seventh year, this year’s JubilASIAN event and awards ceremony will be held 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 23 at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Carousel Court, Level 1.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will include refreshments and cultural performances. RSVPs are encouraged and can be made at www.abaoc.org.

The Asian Business Association of Orange County (ABAOC), founded in 1992, is a non-profit organization serving and assisting the needs of growing Asian American businesses in Orange County.

Li said he is honored by his selection. “I’m proud to be included among such a distinguished group of business and community leaders,” he said.
