LEXI Seminars Offered

Last spring, two state-of-the-art materials characterization instruments were delivered to CALIT2’s Microscopy Center, further enhancing UC Irvine’s growing reputation as a one-stop shop for complex materials characterization work.

The Microscopy Center is an integral member of LEXI (Laboratory for Electron and X-ray Instrumentation), which is now offering a series of seminars to help users better understand the FEI Magellan SEM and Rigaku SmartLab X-ray diffractometer, as well as the principles, applications and operations of several of the lab’s other instruments. All of LEXI’s tools and instruments are available to UCI and off-campus users on a recharge basis.

Upcoming seminars will be devoted to the FEI Quant 3D Dualbeam FIB/SEM, the FEI XL-30 FESEM, the FEI CM-20 TEM, the Oxford INCA EDS, the Rikagu SmartLab and others.

The 15 seminars, which began this month and are currently being scheduled, will continue through next spring. Interested users can sign up to attend at:
