The SIM Home is a Zero Net Energy Home. The home is powered with renewable energy sources to reduce carbon emissions and energy spikes. Each plug load device in the home is QR coded for visitors to explore more information from manufactures/sponsors and energy performance measured by CalPlug. Beacons will “tag” around the house so visitors will receive push notifications on their mobile devices as they walk around.
The Internet of Things is the basic theme of the SIM Home. Combined with the geo location of the house, the family member and the home become a collaboration formed by many end nodes inside of the house. In case of emergency, the homeowner will have the option to execute automatic, semi-automatic, or even manual override actions to ensure the safety and privacy of the home’s occupants via IoT.
