Training Programs at CALIT2
Empowering UCI students to make a difference through hands-on, interdisciplinary research and industry engagement.

Our Mission
CALIT2’s Training Programs bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world innovation. We prepare the next generation of STEM leaders by connecting students with faculty, researchers, and industry mentors through immersive, team-based experiences. Our programs emphasize collaboration, inclusion, and innovation — giving students the tools and confidence to transform ideas into impact.
In an era where AI, IoT, data science, sustainability, and health intersect, CALIT2’s training initiatives provide students with clear pathways from classroom learning to real-world impact. By working in interdisciplinary teams and collaborating with faculty and industry partners, participants gain the confidence and expertise needed for advanced study and success in today’s evolving workforce.
What We Offer
- Hands-on research and project experience guided by faculty and industry mentors.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration across computer science, engineering, and Cali2’s mission-related fields.
- Financial support and mentorship to help students gain practical skills, research experience, and professional growth.
