Members of the Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and California Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC) visited CALIT2 recently to get updated on the center’s programs and projects focused on improving energy productivity, cybersecurity, and competitiveness as well as AI assisted workforce development/ training for small and medium-sized manufacturers.
MEP/NIST members, Michael Taylor, Marlon Walker and Andrew Peterson along with Jim Watson and Gregg Profozich of CMTC met with G.P. Li, CALIT2 director, program directors, researchers and students.
Established in 1992, California Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC) is a private non-profit organization that provides technical assistance, workforce development, and consulting services to small and medium-sized manufacturers throughout the state of California. CMTC operates under a number of cooperative agreements with the Federal and State government, the largest of which is with the Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) under the Department of Commerce for the State of California.
The visitors attended presentations about CALIT2 ’s recently launched SMART IAC and CalPlug’s “SME Survey and Opportunities” report. Students presented demonstration on CALIT2’s SMART Connected Worker program and HYDRA research.
