CalPlug Workshop: Optimizing Energy Efficiency in Spaces

On Oct. 18, CalPlug’s 18th workshop featured experts in their respective fields to discuss the future of energy consumption as it relates to climate challenges and solutions.

G.P. Li, CALIT2 and CalPlug director, welcomed the panel of distinguished speakers to the virtual event and explained the focus of the workshop titled, “Optimizing Energy Efficiency in Spaces.”

“This is a very important time in our generation to fight climate change,” Li said. “Our focus and the theme of today’s workshop is to emphasize how we can achieve our goal by optimizing energy efficiency.”

The event was part of CalPlug’s workshop series designed to maximize communication of the latest research findings and development and to address challenges in plug load efficiency for both residential and commercial buildings. The workshops bring together utilities, manufacturers, advocacy groups, research institutions and energy policymakers.

CalPlug, located at the CALIT2 Building, was established in 2011 to improve energy efficiency in the use and design of appliances and consumer electronic devices.
